No one likes to see a football player laying on the field surrounded by coaches and medics. One recent injury to a Winston-Salem high school athlete proved fatal. Matt Gfeller was not even carrying the ball. When a community is so taken with grief, you can help people work through it by covering the medical explanation as much as the emotion.
