By Tom Dolan

The New York Times produced some great coverage after a crane pulled away from its mooring on one building and crashed into another high rise in NY. At least seven people were killed. Providing quick explanatory visuals will keep users on your page. Managing the expectation that this is your style of coverage will bring them back when there's major Breaking News. These tools are very available. They are not just creative exercises. Newspaper web sites like the NY Times compete favorably with Local TV because they think like this.
